Specialty Conformation Judge

Ann Kilminster

Judge Ann KilminsterI had my first flatcoat in 1970, followed by a show puppy from the late Pat Chapman. She was my foundation bitch for the Withybed line, Ch. Shargleam Black Abby of Withybed. My line has produced several English champions and one Finnish Ch. Withybed Texas Ranger.

I have been judging flatcoats internationally since 1982, and was honoured to judge the Speciality in St. Louis in 2006, and flatcoat dogs the same year at Crufts. I am really looking forward to meeting some Canadian dogs and their owners!

Specialty Sweeps Judge

Linda Brox Judge Linda Brox

I met my first Flat-coated Retriever - in 1992 and I showed a Flat-coated Retriever for the first time in 1993. Her name was Tabby, and after some training and ring time for us both, she was known as Ch Thornfield’s Chinook, bred/owned by Margaret Hall. I learned a lot from those fine ‘ladies’. Tabby taught me how to work with a dog in the conformation ring and Margaret introduced me to field, with an undeniable passion. It took me 10 yrs and the right dog to recognize this passion for myself.

My first Flat-coat girl, I waited 8 yrs for...and Can/Am Ch Westlawn Blue Melody At Rush was worth it. Jazz never let me down in the show ring….we came home from every National Specialty we attended (Canadian and American) with a rosette.

I have had the honor of handling Canadian National Specialty Show winners, two times - two different dogs. I have also had the honor of handling Canadian National Specialty Puppy Show winners, also twice. As a perpetual student of the canine, I attend and participate in many classes and seminars on such topics as; breeding/puppies, confirmation, field, and canine nutrition-health. I have the amazing support of Dennis, my husband of 25 yrs. We share our home with both Flat-coated Retrievers and Golden Retrievers. We breed under the prefix ‘RUSH’. This is an absolute honor to be asked to judge Sweepstakes at our Canadian National Specialty 2015 in beautiful Halifax, Nova Scotia. I look forward to seeing our breeds promising puppies and vibrant veterans.

Judge Susie Bell

I am honoured to be a part of the judging panel for the Flat Coated Retriever Specialty. I have judged at the National Flat Coated Retriever Specialty in the past in the WC tests.

Dogs have been a part of the family all my life. Barney my mixed breed cocker was part of my marriage package. Sandy, my husband got me and my dog 43 years ago.

In 1974 we got our first Labrador Retriever puppy and little did we know at the time how our life would change. 1980 we had our first litter under the prefix Pinebank Kennel.

Since then we have bred Labradors that do it all. We look for a sound Labrador with good temperament and a happy work ethic. I also got into Irish Water Spaniels for a short time. To date in Obedience I have put 31 CD, 24 CDX , 15 UD, 6 OTChX and 6 MOTCH Titles on dogs and have had three different dogs in the top 10 Obedience dogs in Canada. I also run my dogs in WC,I,X tests, JR, SR, Master Hunt Tests, Rally Obedience and Tracking Tests and have put 23 conformation Championships on my dogs.

I am looking forward to the East Coast Hospitality and meeting you and your dogs.
